Schedule Telegram channel posts with your own bot
ADpilot publishes approved posts to your Telegram channel or group through a bot you create and own. You connect with the bot token from @BotFather and the channel name; the bot must be an admin that can post messages. Each post is a photo with a caption, or a text message.

How do I connect Telegram?
- In Telegram message @BotFather, send /newbot and follow the steps.
- Copy the token BotFather sends you.
- Open your channel, Administrators, Add admin, pick the bot and allow "Post messages".
- In ADpilot open Connections, choose Telegram, enter the bot token and the channel (the public @username, or the numeric id of a private channel or group), then Check and connect.
ADpilot checks that the bot can post to that chat before saving. Channels and groups work; private one-to-one chats do not.

What does ADpilot post to Telegram?

When the post has an image, it goes out as a photo with the caption under it.

Why do I need my own bot?
Telegram lets bots, not outside apps, post to a channel. Your bot stays yours: remove it from the channel and ADpilot can no longer post.
Can it post to a private channel?
Yes. Use the numeric id of the private channel or group (it starts with -100) instead of an @username.
Keep Telegram captions short?
Yes. Telegram limits photo captions to 1,024 characters, so keep captions for photo posts under that.
