Schedule Instagram posts, carousels and Stories after you approve them

ADpilot writes Instagram captions in your brand's voice, makes the image or carousel, holds each post for your approval and publishes it on schedule. You connect by signing in with Instagram, so ADpilot never sees your password. Feed posts and carousels can carry a first comment, and likes and comments are read back into your reports.

Connect

How do I connect Instagram?

  1. 01

In ADpilot open Connections and choose Instagram.

  2. 02

Check what ADpilot asks for: to view your profile info, to create and publish posts and stories, and to view post insights. Then Continue to Instagram.

  3. 03

Instagram opens. Log in with the account you want to post to and allow access.

  4. 04

You land back in Connections with Instagram connected.

Owners and admins can connect; contributors cannot. Instagram only lets apps publish to professional accounts (business or creator), so switch a personal account in the Instagram app first. ADpilot stores the access token encrypted and you can disconnect at any time.

What goes out

What ADpilot posts to Instagram.

Feed post

One image in 4:5 with a caption of up to 2,200 characters. A longer caption is shortened before it is sent, because Instagram rejects it otherwise.

Carousel

Two to ten slides, each with its own point and image, published as one swipeable post.

Story and first comment

Stories go out in 9:16 with a short hook on the image. Feed posts and carousels can carry a first comment, for hashtags or a question.

Limits

What it does not do yet.

  • Video and Reels made by ADpilot (it makes images, not video)
  • Text-only posts (Instagram needs an image)
  • Tagging people or products
  • Personal accounts

Questions

Instagram questions.

Does ADpilot need my Instagram password?

No. You sign in on Instagram itself and allow access; ADpilot receives a token, not your password.

Does it work with a personal Instagram account?

No. Instagram only allows publishing through its API to professional accounts. Switching to a business or creator account is free and done in the Instagram app.

Does ADpilot report Instagram engagement?

Yes. Likes and comments are read back every few hours, with reach and saves where Instagram returns them, and they feed the weekly report.
